I bought an old 641 today it runs great, but I'm trying to figure out the year. It's the 310835 and there's no year listed for that serial number. Any idea on where to find out the year?

Well if you look under research and info on the lft side of this page then serial numbers etc. You will see that the last year they where made was 1962 and the starting serial number for that year started with 15???? so since your number is 310835 it would make it a late 1962 Hobby farm

I couldn't figure that stuff out. I was looking at the Tractor Registry under the Research & Info. It has most all the years except for a couple.

Are you sure you have the serial number written down correctly? 1962 started with 155531 so ford would have needed to build 155302 more tractors to reach your serial number. They weren't building that many tractors so something doesn't jive. Sometimes there is a diamond before and after the serial number. Are you sure you're not looking at the diamond and think it's a digit?

Since the last hundred series tractor built in 1962 had a serial # of 171247 there is no way your # translates to 1962.
You may not be reading the # right or you may be looking in the wrong place and confusing the casting # for a serial #.
So lets start over.
Look here for your model and serial #.......
Once you have found them you can go to my web site to decode the #'s.

Thanks for your help. I think I've got the right number now. It has a diamond then the numbers 77577. So I guess that dates it to 1957?

If you had a 640 it would be a 1956. But since you said it was a 641 then that makes it a 1959. So what does the # just above your serial # say. Should be something like 641 diamond 77577 diamond

Yes it does have the number 641 above it. Thank you very much for your help. The guy we bought it from thought it was a 1968, and thought it was considered a 9N. He said he bought it from his neighbor years ago. It's got 1822 hours on it. And runs very well. Starts right up. Could use a good cleaning though. [/img]

I aslo forgot to add I bought it for $500.00 at a yard sale. It has a blade on the back of it the guy said he bought a couple of years ago for 800.00. He is moving to Colorado so he had to get rid of it.
